It's been a little busier in the shop but I seem to still find time to work on this little guy. My client I make dragons for asked if I could do him a unicorn...I said, "Of course!" then I thought to myself...maybe I ought to give that a try with a baby first! Imagine hair when lookin at this please! I started the horn this morning...warning work in progress!!!! (Long way to go)
This will be a baby unicorn. I started it yesterday. Kinda' scary, because when I get this far the first day, it means my regular business has no business! Everything is slowing down! Any suggestion...I sort of would like to sculpt the mane and forelock but then I was also thinking about angora goat hair!? Any thoughts???
I still have a few lighter cases, if you're so incline please let me know. $35.00 a piece with $5.00 shipping and handling! Just throw a Bic lighter in the middle and you've got a custom lighter case! Hand sculpted and painted, I also have two that my daughter made! Let Me know...

Now when my dragon gets to his destination the client can assemble him. My daughter is doing so in the photo! Notice this dragon has eye lashes.
I have been playing with Twitter...I don't really get it yet but I hope it can generate a little awareness of my art. You never know ...RIGHT? I saw the movie "Knowing" yesterday, WOW!
By the end of this week I should be finished painting "Sketch" and he'll be packing his bags for the trip to his new home in New York. Then I will begin my next project. I have been asked to do a unicorn! I think that will be a challenge, I want it to be string and beautiful. I love unicorns! It should be fun!
I'm still working on the sad dragon, but I had to take a break. So I made this strange little pendant the other day and stuck it in my etsy store. I call it the "Bat your eyeball pendant".
Thank goodness, I finally got them finished. Now tomorrow I will put the hair on the dragon and there will be another photo. I choose polymer clay to go over my foil armatures. I tried both (air-dry) and I felt... for something so delicate it gave them more strength. Anyway, there it is...just have a few to prime!
Well, my car is in the shop. It's been there the entire week end cause it got sick on Friday. They just called and it will be 407.47! Anybody want to buy a Blue Dragon? It never comes at a good time does it? There are a few things I need to have done to my van but like everything else especially now, I have to wait! I have been trying to get my commisioned dragon finished that will bring in a little "car fix-it money"! Oh well such is life!
Here is a lamp I made. I love lamps, just don't have room for all of them. I took photos of my acrylic paintings of Johnny and copied them. Then I cut them out and burnt the edges, then decoupaged them to the lamp shade. I take all the photos of my polymer jewelry creations directly under this lamp!
These shoes remind me of the differences in the world and how we are all on our own journey, it is the journey we have in common! I don't paint shoes as much as I should.
I am now making his hair, I was wondering if I should sculpt it out of the air-dry clay or polymer or possible apoxie sculpt does anyone have an idea. They will be taken out and shipped in bubble wrap when they are finished, to be assembled at the end destination!
Many of the sculptures and art pieces on this blog have been sold...but many are still available for purchase! Please leave me a comment or e-mail at mystapring@Yahoo.com if interested in purchaseing.

I am a retired musician and a barber. I run a shop called Sweeney's in Tucson, with my youngest daughter, and my oldest daughter is a radiology tech assitant and dance teacher! I played music 5 nights a week for 20 years with my husband and step-son, and now I have time for my art! Hope you enjoy it!
