Update...dragon collar.

Quick pics, going out the door to see Twilight for the 6 time at the dollar theater! Back later!

Progression continues...

Just a quick post on the collar progression for my newest dragon...it's coming along nicely. This is the point where I am very anxious to begin painting!

Dragon in progress...

I've decided to add a collar with embedded amber. It's not finished yet, the idea is to make it rather ornate and very old world! But my other job took over yesterday afternoon and pulled me away from my studio. I do find myself wishing in moments of inspiration that my studio was not separated with just a wall from my other job. But then again...I can just take one step and I'm back in my studio, immersing myself in that world that, as you all know... artists are always in. I am very fortunate to be able to play between work!

A commission lighter case!

This case has been commissioned by my daughter's childhood friend. It's for her sister-in-law who's into Angels. It's the first time I have ever done angels! Back to making more, a couple more commissions to finish! Have a great night...Misty

My green dragon made it...

Here's a picture of a silly little alien I made stuck in a yard sale special, hot air balloon and it hangs in the middle of my studio ( which is known as Art Gecko Studio) The crazy green dragon I made last arrived in New York today safe and sound! Thank goodness! The last two I sent (the purple and the other green) arrived damaged! Not so bad they couldn't be fixed but damaged none the less! I have been holding my breath for this one.
The last two I sent at Christmas time and I think UPS may have had an impromptu hockey game with them! I am making a dragon for myself right now but this week I must begin a commission dragon and after that another commission dragon! So...play time is over! Wow, it sure is a nice feeling when your stuff gets there safely! Here a pic of my progress today!

Long way to go...

The beginning of a new dragon, oddly this one is for me, I have two more that I have to do for a client, But I'd like to get closer to finishing this one. I just started the horns yesterday, that's just the first layer of clay to cover the aluminum foil. He has a long way to go!

A couple paintings I did of my boyfriends!

These are rather large paintings I did in acrylics. I apologize for my Van in the back ground! The last was the little girl from National Geographic Magazine! In the photo...her eyes were so beautiful, they drove me crazy, until I painted them. Same thing with Depp! But I haven't gotten over that or Gerard Butler. Some things just can't be fixed with paint!!!! I'm thinking of starting a blog dedicated to the record of photos I have of my art basically for me so I can look at and see what I need to improve on! I believe it's important to take pictures of everything you have done. It's nice if for no other reason, to be able to look back and see how you have grown and what you have learned as an artist! It's also good to have for your clients!

"Pooka"

Pooka was a very sweet dog, and I was her person. She's no longer with us but now I have become her son's person! It happens, there are a lot of you that know what I mean. I wanted to find a piece of my art work to tell you about, but it has been a long day and I'm not feeling up to snuff...so I think I'll check My Space and say good night. Tomorrow's another day! Thanks to all, good night,
Misty

Art from a couple years past...

I painted this suit case for my daughter when Lord of the rings came out! I actually lost a customer because I wouldn't sell her this case! She was very angry with me and made her husband stop coming to my barber shop. I couldn't sell it to her...I gave it to my daughter. It wasn't mine to sell!

Okay...I'm going to share my secret with all my friends.

I have enjoyed this blogging thing. I'm not real good at it yet but I keep practicing. I have met a bunch of very nice people and some have asked me if I ever sleep because I seem to get a lot of creating done. well it's time to let the cat out of the bag...I weigh the two! Art work...house work, art work...house work?
And from the looks of this photo...I'm sure you can figure out which one wins out. Although there are days I do house work, but I don't really care for it. Well now you know! Oh well...where did I put my brush!?

Here I go again...

Just beginning a new one, but I think this may not have a home yet! I have to start two more that have been ordered but I'm waiting for supplies to arrive. But while I'm waiting I'll work on this guy! Slow in the barber shop today...I did three haircuts and a dragon!

Broken Heart!

If we live life at all... sooner or later this will happen. It's horrible...but when it does, we have to stitch it up with the golden thread of hope and carry on! ( I made that up, and I made the heart out of polymer clay) There have been times in my past, when my heart felt like this one looks!
I'm better now!!!

Selling art is bitter sweet...

These two dragons and a purple one I made are my favorites out of all the dragons I have made. I don't possess any dragons right now they've all gone on to new homes, that's the hardest part about selling...you can no longer run your hands over them. I guess it does make us continue creating though and that's really what it's about, creation that's what we were meant to do.
